Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how you would apply this learning in your everyday life.

    • Humoral (antibody-mediated) immune involves the clone members of B cells to become plasma cells that will produce antibodies to destroy antigens. Meanwhile, some B cells are long-lived and become memory cells capable of stronger rapid attacks against the same antigen. The cells provide immunological memory. In active immunity, B cells encounter antigens and produce antibodies. It can be acquired naturally through bacterial and viral infection or artificially from vaccines. Understanding how B cells are trained to produce antibodies to provide immunity without being exposed to the virus will aid me as a student nurse as early as now. It enables me to advocate for vaccines and public health by combatting the systemic barriers within the community where information is limited and often false.
