Reflecting on the lesson: Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept, and cite how would you apply this learning in your everyday life.

Immunity and stress

Eversince the dawn of time, humans and organisms have already been surrounded by such an environment that can cause stress and this is known to have a connection to the immunity of that individual. Stress causes a person to even forget to eat properly or exercise their body for it to be physically fit. These and the release of cortisol due to stress can cause fast weight gain, easily bruised skin, weak muscles, diabetes, and other health issues. This also causes the body's lymphocytes (white blood cells that aid in the body's defense against infection) to diminish. The likelihood of contracting viruses such as the common cold increases with decreasing lymphocyte numbers making you more susceptible to diseases. 

People don’t notice that even their immune system is compromised due to the stress that they experience. This places such an emphasis that your physical and mental health needs care and attention for you will only suffer the consequences. Hence, making sure to eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and do something in breaks that makes you cope with the situation better can be helpful to combat stress making you live life healthier and better.
