  • Hearing the alarm clock + smell of the brewed coffee = The main responsible for this response is the Somatic Nervous System (SNS), particularly the  somatosensory division. The sound of the alarm clock and the aroma of the brewed coffee that was indicated by the sensory receptors sent a signal to the brain and this resulted in waking up and getting a whiff of the brewed coffee.

  • Stretch + yawn = The main responsible for this response is the Somatic Nervous System (SNS), particularly the  somatic motor division. The act of stretching and yawning are results from the motor neurons that conduct impulses from the Central Nervous System to the skeletal muscles.

  • Salivate = The main responsible for this response is the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), particularly the parasympathetic nervous system. In this accord, the stimulus or signal of having to smell the brewed coffee, inhibits salivation.

  • Rumbling stomach = The main responsible for this response is the Enteric Nervous System (ENS) which have enteric plexuses that are embedded in the walls of the gastrointestinal tract. In this accord, the ENS has the ability to independently control itself without the brain leading it.
