1. How the food changes consistency and form?

- When intaking food, it first goes to the mouth where enzymes from the saliva breaks down the food. The teeth and jaw also help by breaking down the bolus into smaller pieces. By going through the peristalsis, bolus then travels way down the stomach and gets turn into a thick liquid that is mixed with proteins and acid called chyme. After this, chyme then travels to the small intestine where the nutrients are absorbed and what left is only liquid waste. Substances such as Vitamin K then get absorbed in the large intestine and also drains out the liquid from theĀ  liquid waste turning it into a stool. Lastly, the rectum stores the feces till a bowel movement occurs and it exits its way to the anus.

2. How the body was able to absorb the nutrients from the foods we eat?

- The body mainly absorbs nutrients from foods by the passing through small intestine. In the small intestine, chyme is mixed with digestive juices which participates in the absorption of nutrients such as amino acids, monosaccharides, and others as well that later on enters the blood streams.
