Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how this learning can be applied in your daily life.

  • Our lesson covered how the integumentary system maintains homeostasis. The integumentary system protects our bodies from infection and injury caused by our surroundings. It serves as our body's armor and serves as the first line of defense against viruses, bacteria, and microbes. It also helps to regulate our body temperature and supports our immune system in order to keep us healthy. This is very useful in my daily life because it protects me from bacteria and viruses. It also protects me from any injuries/scratches and infections caused by my dog. It also helped me, especially when I tested positive for COVID-19, by supporting my immune system. My integumentary system also shields me from harmful light, such as UV rays.
