1. The site for injection recommended for infants receiving PCV and Penta vaccines is at the vastus lateralis muscle at the anterolateral thigh. Vastus lateralis extend the lower leg and allow the body to rise up from a squatting position. It is located on the side of the thigh. It is innervated by femoral nerve (L2-L4). Through this path, there will be less possibility of damaging neurons or blood vessels. Locating the upper and lower anatomical landmarks will be easier to find the vastus lateralis.

2. The site for injection recommended for this case receiving an IM injection is at the deltoid muscle at the upper arm. Deltoid muscle provides compensation for lost arm strength if you have an injury, such as a rotator cuff tear. It is a rounded, triangular muscle located on the uppermost part of the arm and the top of the shoulder innervated axillary nerve (C5, C6). Locating the acromion process will help in location the landmark of deltoid muscle.
