Action: supinates forearm at radioulnar joints
    Innervation: deep radial nerve

  2. Brachioradialis
Action: flexes the forearm at elbow joint; supinates and pronates forearm at radioulnar joints to neutral position
    Innervation: radial nerve

  3. Biceps brachii

    Innervation: Lower subscapular nerve

  2. Subscapularis
Action: Medially rotates arm at shoulder joint
Innervation: upper and lower subscapular nerve.

  3. Deltoid
Action: lateral fibers abduct arm at shoulder joint; anterior fibers flex and medially rotate arm at shoulder joint; posterior fibers extend and laterally rotate arm at shoulder
    Innervation: axillary nerve

  4. Pectoralis Major
Action: adducts and medially rotates arm at shoulder joint
Innervation: medial and lateral perctoral nerves

  1.  Kicking a ball

  1. Quadriceps femoris (Rectus femoris)
Action: extend and raise the knee
    Innervation: femoral nerve

  2. Psoas Major
Action: flexes thigh and hip joint, laterally rotate thigh, and flexes trunk on hip
    Innervation: Lumbar spinal nerve

  3. Iliacus
    Action: flexes and rotates femur
    Innervation: Femoral nerve

  1.  Doing sit-ups

  1. Rectus abdominis
Action: flexes vertebral column especially lumbar portion
    Innervation: Thoracic spinal nerves T7-T12

  2. External oblique
Action: compresses the abdomen and flexes vertebral column
Innervation: Thoracic spinal nerves T7-T12 and the iliohypogastric nerve

  3. Transversus abdominis
    Action: compresses abdomen
Innervation: Thoracic spinal nerves T8-T12, iliohypogastric nerve, and ilioinguinal nerve

  4. Psoas Major
Action: flexes thigh and hip joint and flexes trunk on hip
    Innervation: Lumbar spinal nerve

  1.  Walking

  1. Tibialis posterior
Action: flexes distal and middle proximal phalanx of each toe phalanges of each toe at interphalangeal joints and metatarsophalangeal joint
    Innervation: Tibial nerve

  2. Soleus
Action: plantar flexes foot at ankle joint
    Innervation: Tibial nerve

  3. Gastrocnemius
Action: plantar flexes foot at ankle joint and flexes leg at knee joint
    Innervation: Tibial nerve

  1. Breathing

  1. Diaphragm
Action: increases the vertical dimension of the thoracic cavity resulting in inhalation
Innervation: phrenic nerve, which contains axons from cervical spinal nerves

  2. Internal intercostals
Action: draws adjacent ribs together to further decrease anteroposterior and lateral dimensions of thoracic activity during forced exhalation
    Innervation: Thoracic spinal nerves T2-T12

  3. External intercostals
Action: elevates ribs and increases anteroposterior and lateral dimensions of thoracic activity, making inhalation possible
    Innervation: Thoracic spinal nerves T2-T12
