Turning a door knob
a. Supinator
action: rotates the radius laterally at the proximal radioulnar joint.
innervation: innervated by the posterior interosseous nerve (C7, C8), a branch of the radial nerve.
b. Pronator teres
action: pronates the forearm and assists in flexion of the elbow joint.
innervation: innervation from median nerve (root value C6 and C7).
c. Brachioradialis
action: flexes the forearm at the elbow, especially when quick movement is required.
innervation: innervated by the radial nerve

Throwing a baseball overhead
a. Latissimus Dorsi
action: works collaboratively with the teres major and pectoralis major to perform actions of the upper extremity.
innervation: innervated by the sixth, seventh, and eighth cervical nerves through the thoracodorsal
b. Subscapularis
action: helps in shoulder adduction and extension in certain positions.
innervation: innervated by both the upper subscapular nerve (USN) and lower subscapular nerve (LSN)
c. Pectoralis Major
action: extends the arm at the shoulder (glenohumeral) joint from a flexed position.
innervation: innervated by both medial and lateral pectoral nerves.

Kicking a ball
a. Quadriceps
action: extend/straighten the knee.
innervation: innervated by Femoral nerve.
b. Hamstrings
action: to flex the knee joint and extend the hip
innervation: innervated by nerves that arise from the lumbar and sacral plexuses.
c. Gluteus Maximus
action: extension and external rotation of the thigh at the hip joint.
innervation: innervated by the inferior gluteal nerve (L5-S2)

Doing sit-ups
a. Rectus Abdominis
action: flexion of the trunk while it works by drawing pubic symphysis and sternum toward each other.
innervation: innervated by the thoracoabdominal nerves
b. Rectus Femoris
action: extend the knee and also assists iliopsoas in hip flexion.
innervation: innervated by Femoral nerve (L2-L4).
c. Iliopsoas
action: strongest flexor of the hip joint.
innervation: innervated from the L2-4 nerve roots of the lumbar plexus.

Walking
a. Pectineus
action: flexes and adducts the thigh at the hip joint when it contracts.
innervation: innervation mainly from the femoral nerve and sometimes, obturator nerve.
b. Adductor Longus
action: adduct the thigh at the hip joint.
innervation: majority of hip adductors are innervated by the obturator nerve (L2-L4)
c. Quadriceps
action: extend/straighten the knee.
innervation: innervated by Femoral nerve.

Breathing
a. Diaphragm
action: It contracts and flattens when you inhale.
innervation: innervation of the diaphragm comes from the phrenic nerves (C3-C5).
b. Intercostal Muscles
action: depress the ribs during forced expiration.
innervation: innervated by the anterior rami of spinal nerves T1-T11.
c. Rectus Abdominis
action: flexion of the trunk while it works by drawing pubic symphysis and sternum toward each other.
innervation: innervated by the thoracoabdominal nerves.
