1. The recommended injection site for PCV and Penta is the anterolateral thigh, targeting the vastus lateralis muscle. The vastus lateralis originates from the intertrochanteric line, greater tronchanter, gluteal tuberosity, and linea aspera of femur. It inserts in the tibial tuberosity via patellar ligament, the patella, and the lateral condyle of tibia. It is primarily for extending the lower leg and allowing the body to rise up from a squatting position. The injection site is halfway down the vastus lateralis, which is the muscle on the outside of the thigh. Markers include the greater trochanter, and the lateral femoral condyle – the injections site is about halfway between these two levels. The top border of this muscle can be found a hand width below the groin, and the bottom border is the hand above the knee.

2. The recommended injection site for this case is the upper arm, targeting the deltoid muscle. It originates from the anterior border and upper surface of the lateral third of the clavicle, acromion, spine of the scapula. It inserts in the deltoid tuberosity of the humerus. It is primarily for shoulder abduction, flexion, and extension. The top border of the deltoid region is one or two finger widths from the acromion process. Select the middle part of the deltoid muscle from the side view for injection.
