Insertion: Mandible, blends with muscles around angle of mouth, and skin of lower face
Action: Depression of mandible, tension of skin of the inferior neck and face

Muscles: Mentalis
Origin: Mandible
Insertion: Skin of chin
Action: Elevates skin of chin and elevates and protrudes lower lip

Muscles: Orbicularis oris
Origin: Muscle fibers surrounding opening of mouth
Insertion: Mucous membrane of lips
Action: Closes and protrudes lips during kissing or resists distension when blowing
4.
Muscles: Corrugator supercilii
Origin: Medial end of superciliary arch of frontal bone
Insertion: Skin of eyebrow
Action: Draws eyebrow inferiorly and wrinkles skin of forehead vertically as in frowning
5.
Muscles: Orbicularis oculi
Origin: Medial wall of orbit
Insertion: Circular path around orbit
Action: Closes eye
6.
Muscles: Occipitofrontalis
Origin: Occipital belly: occipital bone, frontal belly: epicranial aponeurosis
Insertion: Frontal belly: Skin superior to supraorbital margin. Occipital belly: Epicranial aponeurosis
Action: Frontal belly: Draws scalp anteriorly, raises eyebrows, Occipital belly: Draws scalp posteriorly
