Which bone (yellow) is centrally located and joins with most of the other bones of the skull?

- The yellow bone that is centrally located and joins with most of the other bones of the is the sphenoid bone. Whereas, it is located at the middle of the skull which attaches to the other bones on both sides.

What are the two mechanisms by which the bones of the body are formed and which bones are formed by each mechanism?

Intramembranous ossification → mesenchymal tissue = bone and forms the flat bones of the skull, clavicle, and most of the cranial bones.

Endochondral ossification begins with mesenchymal tissue transforming into → cartilage intermediate → replaced by bone → forms the remainder of the axial skeleton and the long bones.

What are the synovial joints being described in the video?

The synovial joints present in the video are gliding joints, condyloid joints, pivot joints, ball-and-socket joints, hinge joints, and saddle joints.

Which type of synovial joint allows for the widest ranges of motion?

The ball-and-socket joint (or spheroid joint) is a type of synovial joint described as a ball-shaped surface of one rounded bone that suits the cup-like depression of another bone. It has the most mobility that permits vast ranges of motion since all movement types are attainable in all directions.
