Choose one concept in our lesson today, give a brief explanation about the concept and cite how this learning can be applied in your daily life.

The concept I chose is the usage of nail shape to identify the health condition of a person. Nail shape is defined by the shape or angle of the nail body. A nail body with an angle of 160 degrees is considered a normal nail. What is not considered a normal nail are those with a spoon shape nail body, beau lines, and angles that are equal to or greater than 180 degrees. Nails that are spoon-shaped are usually seen in patients that have iron deficiency anemia. Next, nails with an angle equal to or greater than 180 degrees are the effects of long-term oxygen deficiency which can be seen as early or late signs of clubbing. Lastly, Nails with Beau's line are the effects of severe illness or injury.

This concept may be useful in everyday life because it is something that everyone can easily do. By observing your nails, you can do a quick check to see if you have any health issues mentioned above.
