What is the importance of studying organs or the body at different planes and sections?

In anatomy and physiology, learning about the organs and body in various planes and sections aids in comprehension of the numerous ways they may be seen when cut into sections or slices. A segment of the body or an organ that has been sliced through will have a flat surface, which may be seen while observing them. These portions are created along predetermined planes. The transverse, sagittal, oblique, and frontal planes are well defined and are perpendicular to one another. In order to comprehend the three-dimensional structure of an object being examined, it is crucial to comprehend the nature of the plane along the section that was formed. They are particularly important to understand if a person works in the healthcare industry and analyzes pictures from MRI machines and other imaging devices.

Additionally, examining the organs of the body in various planes and sections offers a common language that reduces misunderstanding when recognizing the organs. It is also employed in the vocabulary of movements; for instance, the flexion of the upper limb is done by anterior muscles, while that of the lower limb is done by posterior muscles.
