Activity 5: Anatomical Directional Terms
Which directional terms can be used to specific the relationships between:
a. Elbow and shoulder - The elbow is distal to the shoulder.
b. left and right shoulders - The left shoulder is contralateral to the right shoulder.
c. Sternum and the humerus - The sternum is medial to the humerus.
d. Heart and the Diaphragm - The heart is superior to diaphragm.
e. Knees and tibia - The knees are proximal to the tibia.
f. Liver and gallbladders - The liver is superior to the gallbladders.
g. Spleen and liver - The spleen and liver are contralateral to each other.
h. Kidneys and small intestines - The kidneys are posterior to the small intestines.
i. 3rd and 5th digits - The 3rd and 5th digit of our hands are lateral to each other.
j. Sternum and thymus glands - The sternum is anterior to the thymus glands.
