1. Distinguish between somatic and reproductive cell division and explain the importance of each.
- In somatic cell division, a cell’s contents in duplciated, and is divided into two; which consists of the interphase and the mitotic phase. This process is known to be important for cells growth and repair. Contrary, reproductive cell division is the production of haploid cells which only has 23 chromosomes; consisting of meiosis I and meiosis II. This process signifies the transfering of genetic material from parent to offspring
2. What is the significance of interphase?
- Interphase plays a significant role in cell division because this is a stage were a cell grows the most. Since cells spend most of their time here, the replication of DNA is also happened here, as well as the preparation for the cell division.
