What do you think are the reasons of high unmet need of FP in the Philippines?

High levels of unmeet need of family planning in the Philippines may be caused by the following: (1) woman's strength of fertility preference - woman may be conscious on her age which may affect her fertility preference despite the recent pregnancy; (2) perceived risk of conceiving - the woman may consider the onset of menopause and their reproductive lives; (3) perceived effects of contraception on health - testimonies from other contraceptive users instill fear to others regarding the possible effect of contraception to their body, (4)husband's fertility preference - some women wanted to be ligated but the husband does not approve, and (5) husband and wife's acceptance to family planning.

What are ways you can suggest to increase the practice of FP in the country?

1. Promotion of family planning information and services in barangay-level. Philippines  has laws and programs for family planning, but the application in local level is not evident.

2. Educate adolescents and younger people on reproductive health.
