What is your opinion about the practice of family planning? Are you for it or against it?
Personally, I am in favor of the practice of family planning. After all, family planning is a responsible way of having a child, and bringing another life into this world is such a huge commitment and responsibility. Having a child means you have to be physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially ready for it, so you can give your child the right care and love that they deserve, and of course, to ensure that they will be growing healthily and getting all their needs met. The problem with our country is that not a lot of people, especially those from low-income families, are not aware or do not have access to different family planning methods, preventing them and their children from getting quality life most of the time. Moreover, because we live in a conservative country, there remains a stigma attached to family planning methods, hindering Filipinos from using them.

Are you in favor of the Reproductive Health Law and its provisions? Elaborate your answer.
The main context of the Republic Act of 10354 is to guarantee the universal access to safe, non-abortifacient, effective, legal, affordable, and quality reproductive healthcare services, methods, devices, and supplies. Based on this, I could already say that I am all for it. It was further elaborated in Section 2, according to the Philippine Commission on Women (n.d.), that it shall also discriminate the discriminatory practices, laws, and policies, that infringe on a person’s reproductive rights. Further into the article it also defined a lot of terms regarding reproductive health and family planning, as well as those involved with it. This article also aims to make family planning methods accessible, ensuring that all accredited health facilities shall also have medical consultations, supplies and necessary and reasonable procedures for poor and marginalized couples having infertility issues who desire to have children.
Overall, I definitely agree with this law, its stand, and how inclusive it is. As I have mentioned in the previous question, one of our problems is that family planning methods do not reach low-income families. This law makes our goal to accessibility closer and closer, though there is still a long way to go, especially that client education should also be added into consideration.
