Introduction to the course
Dear Students,
Welcome to the N8 Basic Health Assessment Course, a 2-unit course that focuses on the basic assessment of clients using varied techniques and sources across the lifespan. Health assessment is fundamental and critical in the care of our clients. It is the initial step in developing nursing care plans. Health assessment is essential to be comprehensive and holistic to address our clients' multifaceted needs. Developing and strengthening your competency in performing health assessments is necessary throughout your Nursing career. Thus, exerting effort and energy in this course is vital for succeeding in your higher-level Nursing courses.
In this Orientation Page, you will be able to download the following:
- The Learner's Contract sets your commitment in fulfilling the expectations as an IskoNars enrolled in this course. The signed Learner's Contract should be submitted to access the next section of the course site.
- The Course Guide presents details about the course descriptions, evaluations, schedule, and rules. By looking into the schedule, you will anticipate what assessment materials you need for the sessions.
- The Skills Checklists Guide contains the different checklists of specific assessment procedures.
We request you to read and review these materials to have a grasp of the course and identify what you will expect from the course. We will be using the UP Manila VLE as our learning management system. This platform shall be used to access course materials and resources, and submit course requirements.
