This course includes rotations in the different services of the Outpatient and Inpatient Departments, including the OB Admitting Section and Labor/Delivery Room. Skills in the diagnosis and management of normal pregnancy, diagnosis of abnormal pregnancy and the institution of initial emergency measures prior to availability of higher-level expertise are acquired. Skills in performing certain minor OB-GYN procedures such as dilatation and curettage, episiotomy and repair and placental extraction are also acquired.
